Artist’s Book ANIMATED LANDSCAPE by Jacopo Ceccarelli 2501
190,00 €
This artist’s book, curated by 2501, was created as a completion to the exhibition project ANIMATED LANDSCAPE, held at SpazioC21 in Reggio Emilia as part of Fotografia Europea 2022.
The volume features photographs by the artist and Guido Borso, a critical text by Fabiola Naldi, a project description by Simone Pallotta, the transcript of an interview with Paolo Pellegrin, and excerpts from the writings of Hakim Bey—philosopher, anarchist, essayist, poet, and writer—best known for developing the concept of Temporary Autonomous Zones (TAZ), a socio-political tactic for temporarily evading formal structures of control through the creation of self-managed spaces.
The work is divided into five chapters, each referring to the coordinates of the location where the corresponding performative actions took place: one in Apulia (as part of Verso Sud, a public and performance art festival), two self-organized in Milan (at Bisceglie and Gasometro Bovisa), and two developed for the CONTACT/less series at MAXXI L’Aquila.
Published by Tecnograf in Reggio Emilia in August 2022, the volume is in quarto format (27.7 x 28 cm), includes 120 pages, printed in offset on alternating Free Life 130 gsm and Favini Dolce Vita 140 gsm papers, and is thread-bound. The hardcover is wrapped in matte coated paper, printed in offset with silkscreen detailing.
The edition consists of 160 copies: 150 standard editions, numbered 1–150 in Arabic numerals (available in the shop) and 10 special editions, numbered I–X in Roman numerals, bound in a luxury finish by Sandra Varisco
For the production of the book, SpazioC21 worked with the consultancy and supervision of Giuseppe Iotti (Lo Studio).
