SCRITTI PER 108 – Eterna permanenza oscura
28,00 €
108, aka Guido Bisagni, is a painter, an acclaimed artist, and a pioneer of the Italian writing and urban art scene.
Graduated in Industrial Design from the Politecnico di Milano, he is considered one of the first and most prominent figures of abstract post-graffiti in Italy and across Europe. His painting—drawing inspiration from historical avant-gardes and primitive art—is characterized by the extensive use of black, organic-looking shapes. A “dark” signature that 108 has infused with meaning and expressive power, in stark contrast to the image and color overload of contemporary society.
As Domenico Russo, author of this monograph, writes: “108’s greatest invention, the impenetrable black—bottomless oil—is imperfect and flawed, human and elegant at the same time, reverent. All his colors seem to be pulled from the depths of other colors, as if no other tones existed, nothing but absolute emptiness. And absolute emptiness is terrifyingly black…”
La sua pittura, ispirata alle avanguardie storiche e all’arte primitiva, si caratterizza per un uso estensivo di forme nere dalle sembianze organiche. The texts in this monographic essay—the first to retrace over thirty years of the artist’s aesthetic research—are both historical and personal, offering an intimate and well-documented reading of 108’s work.
The author revisits 108’s artistic journey through a clear and in-depth interpretative process, aimed at uncovering the inner workings of the creative spirit that drives the artist.
